An Loch an Ear

An Loch an Ear — 'The East Loch' in Scottish Gaelic — is a sheltered sea loch on the eastern side of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, where you drop anchor among some of Scotland's most dramatic island scenery. The surrounding landscape is raw and elemental, with the rugged Harris hills tumbling down toward the water and the kind of stillness that's hard to find anywhere else.
