Cromarty Anchorage

Cromarty sits at the mouth of the Cromarty Firth, and its anchorage is naturally sheltered by the dramatic Sutor headlands — twin cliffs rising over 400ft on either side of the narrow entrance. It's a genuinely peaceful spot, with the charming historic town of Cromarty right on your doorstep, full of 18th-century architecture and the birthplace of geologist Hugh Miller. Holding is good and there's plenty of swinging room, so drop the hook and take the dinghy ashore to explore.
