Drop anchor off this quiet village on the northern shore of Chichester Harbour, just a couple of miles west of Chichester. The big draw here is Fishbourne Roman Palace, the largest Roman residence ever found in Britain — it's a short walk from the water and genuinely worth exploring, with stunning in-situ mosaic floors and well-preserved remains. The setting is calm and tucked away, making it a great excuse to get ashore and catch something properly historical.
