Skitviken

Drop anchor just below the Steam Hotel and Kokpunkten at this wonderfully scrappy artificial peninsula known as Skitviken — roughly translated as 'Shit Cove'. What makes it unlike anywhere else is the ramshackle shanty settlement clinging to the shoreline, where residents keep hammering and building despite the gleaming new apartments looming overhead. It's raw, alive, and completely unbothered by its fancy neighbours.
