St Ninian's Bay

Drop anchor off St Ninian's Bay (also called The Straad), a sheltered spot on Bute's west coast with stunning views across to Inchmarnock Island. This windswept little bay carries some serious history — the ruins of a medieval chapel sit nearby, and it's connected to the legendary St Ninian's treasure discovered buried beneath it. There's even a sauna on the beach now, which is not something you expect to find on a remote Scottish shore.
