West Neck Harbor

West Neck Harbor on Shelter Island is a quietly scenic anchorage tucked into Long Island Sound, where you can drop the hook in 7–11 feet of water depending on tides and position. There's a public landing nearby if you want to get ashore, and the southern end of the anchorage has a 48-hour limit for non-residents. It's a low-key, uncrowded spot with easy access to Shelter Island's laid-back shoreline.
