This cathedral is a genuine jaw-dropper — it started life as the Mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian in AD 305, making it the second oldest building in continuous use as a Christian cathedral anywhere in the world. The twist? It was later dedicated to Saint Domnius, one of the Christians Diocletian himself had persecuted. The irony of that conversion is something you'll be thinking about long after you leave.
