Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~60 HP engines burn roughly 4.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 101 L ≈ €173 at €1.71/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Spain?
Not personally — a skipper comes with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: A recognised sailing licence is required, with an ICC typically requested for non-Spanish skippers chartering a bareboat.
About Club Naútico.
Club Náutico Ibiza sits right on Talamanca Beach, one of the calmer, more local-feeling bays on the island — a nice contrast to the chaos of Ibiza Town just minutes away. Read more →
When is the best time to sail in Spain?
April–October across the Balearics and Costa Brava; reliable warm summers, busiest in July–August with the occasional afternoon thermal breeze.
