Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit.
Do I need a sailing licence in Italy?
Not personally — a skipper comes with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: The skipper needs a valid sailing licence and VHF certificate, ideally issued by their country of residence (an ICC is widely accepted).
Can I bring my pet aboard?
No, pets are not permitted onboard. This is a standard requirement we enforce on all our charters.
Can I smoke or wear shoes while on the boat?
Neither smoking nor wearing shoes are permitted onboard. We ask all guests to respect these rules to help maintain the vessel.
What if I want to use a jet ski or tender?
Personal watercraft are only permitted if you hold the appropriate license and comply with all local regulations for the areas you're visiting.
Are there restrictions on where I can sail?
All itineraries are suggestions and subject to weather, sea conditions, and final approval from the Captain at the time of your charter. While we'll do our best to reach your chosen ports, the Captain has authority to modify plans for safety.
What happens if I want to do a one-way charter?
One-way itineraries are available only by specific request and subject to our approval; delivery and redelivery fees will apply depending on your route. We require advance notice and these charters are subject to operational feasibility.
