Cala Sisine

4.2 (351 reviews)

Cala Sisine sits at the end of a long valley where the mountains of Ogliastra meet the Gulf of Orosei, making it one of the more dramatically set bays on Sardinia's eastern coast. The beach itself is pebbly rather than sandy, but those big smooth stones are exactly what keeps the water impossibly clear and blue. It's remote enough that you'll need to arrive by boat or hike down through the gorge, which keeps the crowds manageable. Not the softest beach to lounge on, but the raw, unspoilt scenery more than makes up for it.
