Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Boat, all end-users and crew insurance determined by conditions of the insurance company at which the operator has insured the vessel
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~54 HP engines burn roughly 4.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 90 L ≈ €168 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not personally — a skipper comes with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
What sailing area can we explore?
You can sail throughout Croatian territorial waters. If you want to leave Croatian waters, you'll need to request and obtain written approval from us in advance, and you'll cover any permit costs required by state institutions.
What happens if bad weather affects our trip?
We reserve the right to change your route or move to a safe harbor if weather conditions warrant it—your captain will make that call based on safety and current conditions. Overnight anchorages are also at the captain's discretion depending on weather.
Can we smoke on board?
No, smoking cigarettes and electronic cigarettes are not permitted anywhere on the boat.
What if we need to shorten our trip?
If you decide to cut your charter short for any reason, we're unable to reduce the price or refund the difference—the full cost remains due.
How is the boat maintained during our stay?
We deliver the vessel clean, fully equipped with safety gear, and stocked with fuel and water. The captain will notify you at least 12 hours before any refueling stops so you know when and where that will happen. We change towels and linens once per week during your stay.
