Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer liable for damages caused by their actions or neglect
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~150 HP engines burn roughly 12 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 252 L ≈ €471 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not personally — a skipper comes with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I take the boat racing?
No, the yachts may not be used for races. There is no insurance cover for racing, and if a boat is used in a race without our consent the skipper alone is liable for any damages that arise.
Are there any areas I'm not allowed to sail to?
You may not pass the Zdrelac bridge between Ugljan and Pasman without our written approval. Please also clear the yacht properly and respect the rules of the host countries and their harbour authorities.
What is expected of me as skipper during the charter?
You confirm you have the ability to take charge of the yacht and will use it carefully according to good seamanship. Please keep a logbook, hand it over in case of damage, and do not carry undeclared dutiable or forbidden goods.
What condition should I return the boat in?
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, please return the yacht in proper condition, fully fuelled and with complete equipment, to the original place of acceptance and on time. You may ask the local staff to confirm the proper return in writing.
What should I do after damage or an incident at sea?
Inform us immediately and keep the damage as low as possible. You may have minor wear-and-tear repairs of up to 200 euros done and reimbursed on presentation of the invoice, but larger repairs need our consent.
